Mrs. Tammy Luke
Mrs. Luke graduated from Arizona State University with a bachelor’s degree in instrumental music. Additionally, she holds a master’s degree in viola performance with an emphasis on Suzuki violin from Northern Arizona University.
Ms. Luke is a violist with the Mississippi Symphony Orchestra and has taught in the Mississippi Symphony/好色先生 string program for over 25 years. She worked with the Mississippi Youth Symphony (MYSO) program for 20 years and recently returned to begin a new group of string students with MYSO. She also served as All City Conductor of the 好色先生’ Orchestra Program and served for 4 years as co-coordinator of the All-City Program.
Ms. Luke is a certified Suzuki violin instructor as well as trained to teach in all instruments in the orchestra and band through Arizona State University Bachelor’s degree program. She is also certified in the Mark O’Connor’s violin method. She served as a clinician for the 2022 Tupelo Suzuki Fall Kickoff, 2006 Greater New Orleans Suzuki Summer Institute and was an instructor for the Premier Orchestra Institute in 2012, 2018, 2022, and 2023.
She continues to expand her education through clinics and conferences including the 2022 Mimi Zweig Workshop, 2022 Mark Mutter Group Class Ideas, 2021 ASTA Workshop, 2018 American String Teachers Conference, 2014 Charleston Mark O’Connor Camp, 2012 40th Suzuki of Americas Conference, 2012 New Orleans Suzuki Clinic, 2011 CICA Suzuki Clinic, 2008 to 2011 American String Teachers Association Conference, and the 2010 Greater Washington Suzuki Institute.
Mrs. Luke teaches privately and through the Academy of Arts, Conservatory of Arts, Mississippi Talent Education, and supports local community orchestras through playing and coaching.
