    Cemiyon Barber Wins Scholarship

The Wells APAC Dance Department is very proud to announce that one of their former students, Cemiyon Barber is now attending Purchase College in New York City (An arts college rated number 1 in the country) with a $50,000 scholarship per year.

                                                                                                     Cemiyon

His story began with dance when Cemiyon auditioned for dance during his 7th grade year. He was gladly accepted and began his training with us at APAC. Cemiyon was a quick study and an extremely hard worker and progressed even faster than we had imagined. By his 9th grade year he was awarded the Idyllwild Performing Arts scholarship in California for the summer. Idyllwild offered Cemiyon a full scholarship at $60,000 a year to stay for his high school years. He excelled academically and grew to be a remarkable young dancer. He stayed at Idyllwild for 3 years winning all kinds of auditions, competitions, awards and teachers respect. In his senior year Cemiyon auditioned for different art colleges and was accepted into all. But, in the end Purchase College was his choice. Cemiyon comes back to APAC to work with dance students, encourage them to work hard and go after their dreams.
