I am Coach Jason Claxton, a dedicated educator and passionate basketball coach from Clinton, Mississippi. My journey in the field of education and sports has been nothing short of remarkable, filled with countless memories, victories, and lessons learned.
I currently serve as the School Level Athletic Director at Cardozo Middle School and Head Boys Basketball Coach, a position that allows me to combine my love for sports and education. However, my journey began back in 2009 when I first stepped into the world of coaching. Basketball was always more than just a game to me; it was a way of life, a platform to teach young minds about teamwork, discipline, and resilience.
Over the years, I have had the privilege of teaching various subjects such as U.S History, World History, World Geography, and Mississippi Studies. Currently, I am imparting knowledge on Physical Education, a subject close to my heart as it promotes health, fitness, and overall well-being among students.
My coaching career has been marked by numerous victories and achievements. I have led the Bolton Edwards Middle School boys’ basketball team to win numerous CMAC Middle School Championships. These victories were not just about the trophies we won but about the growth and development I saw in my players. Each victory brought us closer as a team and taught us the value of hard work and perseverance.
The pinnacle of my coaching career came when I helped guided the Raymond High School boys’ basketball team to two 4A State Championships. Winning these championships was a testament to our collective effort, determination, and never-give-up attitude. It was an honor to see our hard work pay off and to bring glory to our school.
My journey as an educator and coach has been incredibly rewarding. I believe in the power of education and sports to shape young minds and prepare them for the future. I look forward to continuing my journey, touching more lives, and creating more champions both on and off the court.
