Overview
-
The Community Engagement Council for Jackson Public Schools is a community-led group focused on improving 好色先生 schools. The Council seeks to share information, host events, and facilitate community discussions designed to help improve 好色先生 schools. This is accomplished by reviewing existing 好色先生 policies and making policy recommendations to address identified improvement goals.
Membership is open to any community member invested in the success of 好色先生 students, including parents, educators, students, business leaders and others. The CEC is not the same as the District’s School Board. While the 好色先生 CEC reviews and recommends policies designed to address school improvement goals, it must work through the policy approval process established by the District and the Board.
Formerly referred to as P-16 Councils, Community Engagement Councils are required through state statute with guidance provided by the Mississippi Department of Education. The purpose of CECs is to implement broad-spectrum community-based support for schools and districts implementing improvement plans to improve learning outcomes for students.
