Dr. Latissha Graves-Nash: Head Coach
Being different and unique got me interested in playing tennis. Every sport kept me busy, but it was tennis that changed the way I saw sports. On the court, with only one other player, we saw we could go from court to court meeting people and getting better at our techniques. After not taking it seriously in high school, my best friend and I took to the courts and dominated for two years prior to marriage.
Now, we coach tennis. Taking middle and high school teams made up of scholars with no experience, limited experience and coaching experience from city tournaments to state championships one ACE at a time.
I have a love of tennis because it's the opportunity for our children to see a sport that they can individually control and own at their own pace. Winning is not just for the school, and the team. Winning is for you! Let's do it.
Darius Johnson: Assistant Coach
I am Coach D. I am an event player for the city of Jackson and currently the assistant coach for Forest Hill and Cardova Middle Co-Ed Varsity and Junior Varsity Tennis Team. I am a graduate of Lanier High School where I played tennis under the leadership of Dr. and Coach Nash. My team was represented two times in the state level championship playoffs. After transferring to Forest Hill, Dr Nash left the team in my hands as head coach. Within a year, we won All city championships and placed again, in the State Tennis Championship. Our motto is one team, One court, one player. One game at a time. Are you ready? Let's Play.
