Dear High School Parents and Scholars,

The Jackson Public School District Board of Trustees voted unanimously to close schools and offices March 16 – 27, 2020, following Gov. Tate Reeves' state of emergency declaration and recommendation for statewide school closings in accordance with guidance for addressing COVID-19 health concerns. Additionally, we continue to receive updates on measures to protect the health, safety, and well-being of our scholars, staff, and community.

As a result of the rapidly evolving guidance regarding large gatherings, all 好色先生 high school proms will be postponed until a later date. We recognize the importance of your senior prom experience and it is our sincere hope that the current health concerns will improve, allowing proms to take place at some point in the future. Please know that we have not made this decision lightly, but with the best interest of our scholars, staff, and community in mind. Please accept our heartfelt apologies for any inconvenience caused by this postponement. While we are simply postponing proms at this time, information will be available within the next few weeks for any scholars seeking a refund of their 2019-2020 prom dues.

As we continue to receive guidance from our local and national health experts, we will keep you informed of plans and opportunities to host 2020 proms at a later date.

    Sincerely,

    Laketia Marshall-Thomas

    Assistant Superintendent, High Schools
